Understanding Community Needs Through Research and Strategic Planning
Effective communication starts with understanding the people you are trying to reach. As part of a communication project for the City of Beaumont, I contributed. A comprehensive situational analysis designed to evaluate the city's communication environment and identify opportunities for stronger community engagement
My primary responsibility was conducting a PESTLE environmental scan, examining the political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental factors influencing municipal communications. This research helped identify key trends, challenges, and opportunities that could impact how the City connects with residents.
Through this project, I strengthened my skills in research, strategic analysis, professional report writing, and translating complex information into actionable insights.
The findings from this analysis contributed to broader recommendations to improve public engagement, enhance communication effectiveness, and support informed decision-making within the community.

What I Learned

This project strengthened my analytical thinking and demonstrated how research best supports informed practical recommendations.
